Phil will surely be missed. My first contact with Phil was in the early days
of the Registry when I posted an ad in the Legend looking for a Turq ZR-1. I
got a call from Phil saying he had one that he might sell, but before I
could get there to see it, he changed his mind. I next saw him when I met up
with the NY Caravan headed to BG for the ZR-1 Gathering. His car had a miss
on the trip and 20+ ZR-1's pulled over on the highway. I think it was a bad
plug wire or plug. After that trip I made a visit to the Vette Dr's for a
4.09 gear change. While there I had the privilege to touring Phil's Dream
Garage which was next to the Vette Dr's. It was filled with ZR-1's and some
some rare early 60's 409 Chevies double stacked on the rear wall. One had a
427 Mystery engine. He had an awesome collection and was such a down to
earth guy. I missed seeing him after he moved to Florida but I never forgot
what a gentlemen he was. He was really living life on the drag strip.

Subject: [ZR1NET] Phil DeJohn
Hello everybody,
I recently learned that a ZR-1 legend passed away last night. Phil DeJohn
is now power shifting with John in a better place. He is survived by his
lovely wife Eileen. Please hold your LT5s in unison at 5000 rpm for 10
seconds at 10 pm EST tonight to remember the man, the legend, the Great Phil
DeJohn.
