The manuals differ because that particular VATS-related ECM DTC code applies
to '90-'91. Later model years have a series of VATS-related CCM DTCs.
For models years 90-'91, ECM DTC 46 is a pass-key Vehicle Anti-theft System
(VATS) fault. The fault code is set only when the ECM fails to receive a specific
signal from the CCM during crank mode. If the key is turned "OFF," the fault code
will be erased from ECM memory; however, the code will then be retained in CCM
memory as a history code.
The suspect that the ignition key's cylinder wiring is faulty (worn) or faulty
connections between it and the CCM.

Just pulled a Code 46 from ADL. Anyone know what this is? My manual doesn't list 46, but again
it's a prelim for 92, my car is a 91. NOt sure if it's different though. Thanks for any help.
